Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: The woman, who sustained critical injuries in a road accident involving a Range Rover car, near Power House Chhak on October 31, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack for the last four days.
The deceased has been identified as Lopamudra Sahu.

Lopamudra had sustained critical injuries on her head and other parts of the body after the Range Rover car hit the bike they were travelling. She was initially admitted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar then shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as her condition worsened. Lopamudra’s relative, a retired CISF Jawan Kahnuchanran Nayak, also sustained critical injuries and is still battling for life.
The police have arrested the car driver Soubhagya Kumar Bas for harsh driving and seized the car. Worth mentioning, the car bearing registration number OD-23K0006 reportedly belongs to a company named Armour Ray Ventures Private Limited (ARVPL) in which Bishal Kumar Das, the son of former Odisha minister Late Naba Das, is a director.
The incident occurred while the Range Rover came down from the direction of 120 battalion and hit the two-wheeler at the Power House Square traffic signal. The impact of the collision was so severe that the bike rider duo was thrown off their vehicle on the busy intersection.
