Bhubaneswar, July 11: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge are set to arrive in Odisha today for the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Samavesh’.
AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal will also accompany Gandhi and Kharge at the public rally, which will be held at Baramunda Ground in Bhubaneswar
As per the schedule, Gandhi will arrive at Biju Patnaik International Airport at 11:30 am before heading straight to the rally venue.
Gandhi, Kharge, and Venugopal will also hold discussions with the Congress Legislature Party, OPCC President, and MLAs at Congress Bhavan regarding organisational matters.
Later, they will then depart from Congress Bhavan at 4:45 pm and head to the airport, with their flight back to Delhi scheduled for 5 pm.
The Congress party has been making preparations for the event, and the Odisha Driver Mahasangha has assured that vehicles hired for the rally will not be disrupted, despite their ongoing strike in the state.
Congress workers and leaders will be able to travel to Bhubaneswar without any hindrances, as the Drivers' Association has decided not to block vehicles carrying participants to the "Sambhidhan Bachao" rally.
This decision follows a request from OPCC President Bhakta Charan Das and other party MLAs, urging the Mahasangha to support the Congress party and help ensure the success of the mega rally.
