Paris, Aug 10: India's final medal hope in wrestling Reetika Hooda, lost her quarterfinal fight in the women's 76 kg freestyle event at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Saturday.

She was defeated by top-seeded Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan 1-1 on criteria in the quarterfinal.

However, there is a slight chance of Reetika still fighting for the Bronze medal through the repechage round, if Kyzy reaches the final.

Earlier, in the pre-quarterfinal, Reetika exhibited good power and skill while defeating Bernadett Nagy of Hungary with a 10-0 result.

India in Paris Olympics has won only a Bronze medal in wrestling with Aman Sehrawat clinching a medal for the third spot.

Earlier, India's Vinesh Phogat was disqualified before her Gold-medal fight in the 50-kg women's freestyle wrestling on Thursday.
