New Delhi, August 25: India has witnessed a significant surge in women’s participation in the workforce over the last seven years, with the employment rate for women climbing from 22% in 2017-18 to 40.3% in 2023-24, according to data released by the Labour Ministry on Monday.
The ministry also reported a notable decline in the overall unemployment rate, which fell from 5.6% to 3.2% during the same period.
