Cuttack, Dec 4: The Odisha Govt. on Monday announced to extend the duration of historic Baliyatra festival in Odisha’s Cuttack for one day.
Cuttack Mayor Subhash Singh had moved the Odisha government to extend the festival for one or two days. However, the government has accorded its nod to extend the festival for one day in view of the interest and enthusiasm of the people.
As per the decision, Baliyatra will now conclude on December 5, instead of December 4.
Worth mentioning, The world-famous Baliyatra has a unique identity. Traders across the world assemble and do business in the large festival. In 2019, the festival was accorded state-level festival honour. After that, the festival was postponed for two years due to Covid-19. However, in 2022, it was organised with around 2000 traders and millions of visitors.
