Bhubaneswar, August 2: Superintendent of Police (SP), Khordha Sagarika Nath has been appointed as SP, National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday.
The Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T) confirmed it in the afternoon.
Nath is going on Central Deputation to New Delhi where she will join in the national investigation agency as the SP, Odisha Home Department sources said.
The Department of Home, with the approval of the Odisha Governent, assigned Nath’s new responsibility in the Centre.
A 2016-batch Odisha Cadre IPS officer, Nath is currently serving as SP of Khordha district. The DoPT has directed the Odisha Government to relieve her immediately to facilitate her joining in the Centre.
Nath is widely recognised for her people-centric policing initiatives. She has spearheaded several impactful projects, including ‘Project Sampark’—an anti-drug campaign, the ‘Chota Cop Program’, and ‘Project Durga’, which focuses on women’s safety and empowerment.
Previously, Nath served as Traffic DCP in Bhubaneswar, SP of Balasore and Sundargarh district earning a good name & fame for her citizen-centric services.
