Bhubaneswar, August 12: Odisha Industry Minister Sampad Chandra Swain hailed the Union Cabinet’s nod for two semiconductor projects in Bhubaneswar’s Info Valley, by SiCSem Pvt. Ltd. and 3D Glass Solutions Inc. He said the state is training youth in semiconductor technology and developing an FDI park to attract more investment.
The projects—part of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) with a total national investment of ₹1.6 lakh crore—will make Odisha an emerging hub. SiCSem will set up India’s first commercial compound semiconductor fabrication facility, while 3DGS will bring advanced glass substrate packaging technology to India.
Swain added that several investors had shown interest during the recent investment summit, with plans also underway for textile, apparel, and footwear parks in six locations. The ISM now spans 10 projects across six states, aiming to boost self-reliance and create a skilled talent pool for global electronics demand.
