Nurse found dead under mysterious circumstances in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: Tension prevailed at a private hospital in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar after a young nurse was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased has been identified as Shubhasmita Raut, daughter of Shiva Shankar Raut from Sanakhemundi of Ganjam district.
According to sources, Shubhasmita had requested leave to visit home for Rakhi. She was on night duty on Friday and spoke to her family over the phone around 10 p.m. However, at about 3 a.m., the hospital informed her family that she had fallen in the bathroom and was unconscious. When her family arrived at the hospital, they were informed that Shubhasmita has passed away.
Shattered by the news, her family suspected some foul play over the circumstances surrounding her death.
“Around 3 a.m., the hospital called and said our daughter was senseless and we should come immediately. But when we reached, they showed us her dead body,” her grieving mother said, breaking down in tears.
The incident has sparked tension in the hospital premises. Two platoons of police force have been deployed to maintain law and order situation. Additional DCP along with other officers were present at the scene to prevent any untoward situation.
An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the nurse’s death, said the police.
