​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, October 10: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Prasanna Kumar Patra, Deputy Director of Soil Conservation-cum-Project Director, Watershed, Sundargarh, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

Officials said he will be produced before the Court of the Special Vigilance Judge in Sundargarh later in the day.

According to Odisha Vigilance, searches at properties linked to Patra revealed assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income. The assets include four multi-storeyed buildings and a flat in Bhubaneswar, seven high-value plots, 212 grams of gold, bank deposits amounting to Rs 1.46 crore and cash worth Rs 1.29 lakh.

The official allegedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the assets detected during the searches, Vigilance said.

In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance Police Station Case No. 13/2026 has been registered against Patra under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
