Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: The VSS Nagar Durga Puja committee here is all set to welcome Goddess Durga with Kedarnath Temple-themed pandal this year.
The pandal will be 50 feet tall and artists from Kolkata have been entrusted in the construction work.
The Durga Puja in VSS Nagar has been held for the last 45 years since 1978 after Odisha Housing Board founded VSS Nagar in 1977 with completion of its housing project.
The Durga Puja started with a budget of Rs 5 only in 1978 and this year, the committee has laid out a budget of Rs 14 lakh for Durga Puja 2023. The idol of Goddess Durga will be 18-feet high donning silver crown.

Here the Goddess is offered Khechidi & Dalema on Ashtami and Dahi Pakhal &Saga Bhaja on Dashami, which is unique.
"This year we're celebrating 45 years of Durga Puja at VSS Nagar. We belive in brotherhood and all the residents of VSS Nagar Colony extend their helping hand and financial contribution for the puja, said committee chairman Shital Chandra Mohanty.
