Bhubaneswar, June 20: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled to visit Bhubaneswar today, Commissionerate Police issued a detailed traffic advisory to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during the event.
PM Modi is scheduled to participate in a public program at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, marking the completion of one year of BJP government in the state.
During his visit, PM Modi will hold a "road show" from Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) to Janata Maidan.
The roadshow may cause traffic jams on routes like Airport Square, Capital Hospital Square, AG Square, Raj Bhawan Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square, Shastri Nagar Square, Behera Sahi Square, Jaydev Vihar Square, XIMB Square, and NALCO Square between 3 PM and 6 PM or until the event ends.
People have been advised to avoid these areas and plan their travel in advance.
Bus movement:
To control the crowd and ensure smooth traffic, special routes and parking arrangements have been planned for buses coming from different directions.
Buses coming from Cuttack (via National Highway 16):
These buses will take the service road from Rasulgarh Railway Overbridge, then move through Vani Vihar Square → Acharya Vihar Square (right turn) → Apollo Hospital → Sainik School.
Buses coming from Khordha (via National Highway 16):
After crossing Jaydev Vihar Flyover, buses will move via the service road → Acharya Vihar Square (left turn) → Apollo Hospital → Sainik School road → Nalco Square → Kalinga Hospital Road → Railway Colony Roundabout → Park in a single line along Utkal Hospital and Hatiasuni Square road.
Buses coming from Nandankanan side:
These buses will come through Nalco Square → Kalinga Hospital Road → Railway Colony Roundabout → Park in a single line along Utkal Hospital and Hatiasuni Square road.
Buses coming from Puri side:
These buses will travel via Kalpana Square → Rajmahal Square → turn left → Sishubhawan Square → turn right → Park in a single line from Sishubhawan Square to Capital Hospital Square.
Heavy Vehicle Restrictions:
- Large goods vehicles (like trucks and trailers with 6 or more wheels) will not be allowed through Bhubaneswar during the Prime Minister's visit.
- From Khurda to Cuttack: These vehicles will be diverted at Pitapalli Square and sent through Chandaka Square.
- From Cuttack to Khurda: They will be diverted from Balikuda Square via Trishulia Square to Pitapalli.
