Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: Filmmaker Sanlisa Patel, who initiated an indefinite hunger strike in Bhubaneswar, advocating for the Odisha government's backing of the state's entertainment industry, concluded her protest on Saturday following assurances from OFDC chairman.

Kuna Tripathy, the Chairman of Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC), visited the protest site at Lower PPMG, engaging in discussions with Sanlisa. Tripathy pledged to convene a meeting with stakeholders on November 28.

In response to these assurances, Sanlisa concluded her hunger strike, accepting fruit juice offered by Tripathy. Actor and MP Anubhav Mohanty also met with her at the protest site. Nevertheless, the filmmaker conveyed to the media that the protest would persist until the promised meeting with the OFDC chairman takes place. She emphasized that if the issues remain unresolved at the meeting, the agitation would escalate.

Numerous actors, producers, directors, photographers, scriptwriters, and technicians from the Odisha film industry expressed their support for Sanlisa, actively participating in the protest. Sanlisa expressed her pursuit of justice for the film industry and remained optimistic that the ongoing challenges affecting filmmaking in the state would be addressed promptly.
