Woman dragged to death by tiger on Chhattisgarh-Odisha border

Nabarangpur, June 10: In a horrific incident, an elderly woman was mauled to death by a leopard in Channa village under Kanker district in Chhatishgarh bordering the Umarkote area in Odisha's Nabarangpur district last night. 

According to the information, the incident occured while the woman was fast asleep in her house. She had left the door open due to the extreme heat. During that time, the tiger entered the house and dragged her to a distance of 200 metres into the jungle. The wild animal ate half of her body and left her on jungle.   

Locals spotted the half-mauled body lying in the jungle and informed the forest officials. 

The incident has instilled fear among the local residents in the area, causing many to hesitate venturing outside their homes.
