Bangiriposi, AP 1: A truck transporting onions from Nasik to Kolkata caught fire on Monday morning at Bangiriposhi Ghat on National Highway No 49 in Mayurbhanj district. However, the driver and helper of the truck fortunately managed to escape.
According to the sources, the incident occurred when the truck was en route from Nasik to Kolkata.
The actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Being informed, the firefighters from Bangiriposhi rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames.
The incident resulted in a complete standstill of traffic on National Highway – 49 as authorities worked to manage the situation.
Further investigation is underway.
