Bhubaneswar, November 20: The Odisha Government has planned to launch a new initiative to provide affordable homes, not just land, to slum dwellers in the Capital city, Bhubaneswar.

Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra announced that the government plans to make homes available for families in informal settlements, with prices ranging from ₹14 lakh to ₹50 lakh.

As part of the pilot project, 90 two-bedroom (2BHK) houses have already been built, which will be allotted to slum residents in the first phase.

The government is also finalizing designs for additional housing units, with plans to expand the project based on its success.

This approach aims to ensure faster, more organized urban development and secure housing for the city's most vulnerable families.
