Odisha's Angelina Avni bags CCRT scholarship for Odissi excellency

Bhubaneswar, June 17: The Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), under the Ministry of Culture, has awarded talent search scholarships for the year 2023-24 to 635 child artistes, who have excelled in dance, music and folk art. Among the recipients, Angelina Avni, a thirteen-year-old girl from Odisha residing in Bengaluru, has been recognized for her exceptional skills in Odissi dance.

Angelina began her journey in Odissi dance at the age of 8 under the tutelage of Guru Madhulita Mohapatra and has since demonstrated remarkable proficiency in the art form. Last year, she was also honoured with the Born to Sign scholarship by Zee Entertainment for her achievements in Odissi dance.

The scholarship acknowledges her dedication and talent, highlighting her commitment to mastering Odissi dance despite living away from her native Odisha.
