Cuttack, Dec 19: A school teacher, identified as Antaryami Swain has achieved the Krushak Ratna Award-2024,declared by Prameya News7, for his spectacular contribution to the field of cultivation.
Born in a mediocre family at Govindpur village under the Banki Legislative Assembly in the Cuttack disrict, Swain proved himself as an inspiration for the farmer community, adopting farming as a secondary source of income alongside teaching.
As of now, Swain has wholeheartedly been an absolute farmer post-retirement from teaching, to venture in cultivation farming Dragon Fruit and rarest species of staple vegetables with exotic paddy cropping, adding new innovation to the traditional farming.
Having being graduated in Biology, Swain was elated to be a green man, to boost greenery in his own estates with developing green envelop all around him. However, the high expectation of his parents was to groom his ward as a bio-teacher in High school. Accordingly, he was enticed for teaching and joined a secondary school as Science Teacher. Meanwhile, the environment of green field rejuvenated his hibernated passion and he involved himself in farming. Initially, he assisted his parents in paddy cropping and gradually made up his mind to go for cash crop cultivation, and got ample success.
Now, Antaryami is one among the successful farmers across the state to be awarded as an industrious farmer. He has achieved the Prakruti Mitra & Prakruti Mitra Award, for his dense plantation and new-vision of horticulture in a bid to popularize cultivation among the youth and students.
