Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi highlighted Odisha's vast growth potential due to its natural resources, positioning the state as a future growth engine of India. Speaking at the 'Resurgent Odisha 2024' business conclave organized by the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), Majhi emphasized the state's commitment to establishing mega industries.
Majhi announced that the state government would prioritize the development of agriculture-based industries alongside both large-scale industries and small and medium enterprises. He noted that Odisha's rich natural resources, extensive coastline, and tourist destinations could significantly boost job creation.
Looking ahead, Majhi projected that Odisha's economy could reach Rs 41 lakh crore by 2036, coinciding with the state's centenary.
