Bhubaneswar, Jan 26: Odisha Governor Raghubar Das and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik extended their warm wishes to people on occasion of Republic Day today.
Taking to official ‘X’ handle, Das wrote “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to everyone on the 75th Republic Day. Come, on this auspicious occasion, let us together pledge to protect democracy and by performing our duties, contribute to making a self-reliant and developed India. Jai Hind.”
Similarly, Patnaik wrote “Warm wishes to everyone on the occasion of 75th #RepublicDay. On this auspicious day, let's take a moment to remember our great freedom fighters who made selfless sacrifices for the nation and reaffirm pledge to uphold the ideals enshrined in our Constitution,” on ‘X’ handle.
The Republic Day was also celebrated with much patriotic fervour and enthusiasm with the state-level celebration being held at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar. Governor Raghubar Das unfurled the tricolour and received the salutes from the police personnel, students and others who participated in the parade. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was also present at the event.
The national day was also celebrated at the district headquarters. Ministers unfurled the national flags at major district headquarters and Revenue Divisional Commissioners and Collectors hoisted the national flag at other districts.
