Bhubaneswar, March 12: Amid the prevailing political buzz across the parties in Odisha ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections, a significant meeting was convened by Biju Janata Dal(BJD) at the Naveen Niwas on Thursday.

In the meeting convened in the afternoon, a score of BJD Legislators were seen heading towards the Naveen Niwas reportedly for a close-door discussion.

Among others, senior BJD leader & Nayagarh MLA Arun Sahu, Ghasipura MLA Badri Narayan Patra and Basta MLA Subasini Patra attended the meeting. During the hour-long meeting, Naveen emphasized the party’s strategy regarding the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections. Meanwhile, he urged the BJD Legislators to stand united and work on the party’s resolve regarding the Rajya Sabha polls scheduled on March 16.

Earlier responding to media queries Basta MLA Subasini Jena said, being one of the disciplined brigades of BJD, she would sincerely follow the decision of Naveen Patnaik at every point of time.

“I will positively vote for the BJD supported candidates in the Rajya Sabha Poll. It will be apparent when I would cast my vote publicly before the BJD Agent”, Jena added.

Worth mentioning, Subasini Jena made headlines today after her spouse Rabindra Kumar Jena, a former MP, resigned from the BJD and joined the Saffron Party out of prolonged discontent.
