Bhubaneswar, August 19: The Info Valley Police Station in Bhubaneswar busted a mobile phone snatcher gang on Friday and arrested three members.
A huge cache of stolen mobile phones, high-version bikes, and arms were recovered from the gang, said the IIC.
The accused have been identified as Satyabrata Swain, Sushil alias Manoj Kumar Mangaraj, Sidhhanta Pradhan, and Mohit Saini.
According to the police, the gang had decamped with a mobile phone, snatched from one Rudramadhab Mishra near Gohira Square. Based on the complaint by the victim police investigated the matter and arrested Sushil while fleeing from the police. With the clues provided by the accused, the police reached other two looters and the receiver of the looted mobiles.
A KTM motorcycle and Bajaj Pulsar bike with at least 34 costly mobile phones and a laptop were recovered from the gang following raids conducted to apprehend the accused person, said police.
Further investigation revealed the accused were wanted in a number of cases registered in Bhubaneswar and outside police stations, sources added.
