Mumbai, July 11: Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has revealed that his most significant breakup occurred during his college years after his girlfriend told him that she wouldn’t be able to handle the life of an actor.
Kartik, who was recently seen in the sports biopic ‘Chandu Champion’, revealed about his past relationship on Season 2 of the podcast ‘Be A Man, Yaar’ hosted by Nikhil Taneja.
“My first heartbreak was in school. I couldn’t muster the courage to express my feelings; I simply smiled at her,” said Kartik.
adding that his girlfriend told him that she couldn’t be with him if he pursued acting as she said she couldn’t handle the life of an actor.”
“My girlfriend told me she couldn’t be with me if I pursued acting. She said she couldn’t handle the life of an actor,” he added.
Reflecting on his experiences of facing rejection in movie auditions, Kartik expressed, "It was very harsh. It’s like you don’t exist." The fear of being labeled as "unfit" left him frustrated with the auditioning process. However, he noted a positive shift over time, saying, "My loneliness has been compensated by my fans."
He also discussed becoming "bitter" during his early days in the film industry due to the challenges faced by outsiders in gaining recognition.
While I was standing in the queue, some people don’t even need to be a part of the line. They were having tea where I was giving auditions. There was never an even playing field and things are the same even today, Kartik said.
He also shared his perspective on the criticism regarding the perceived misogyny in his monologues from 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', stating that he would be willing to do a 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 3' today if the script meets his standards.
