Worried medical scholars secure land routes and commercial flights

Growing safety fears have prompted numerous medical scholars from India to urgently plan their departure from Iran. Mohammad Momin Khan, President of AIMSA J&K, reports receiving constant distress calls from worried youth enrolled at various institutions, including Isfahan, Kerman, and Golestan medical universities. Families back home are growing increasingly anxious as these young scholars feel no region within the country remains secure. Many feel trapped and are desperately seeking immediate repatriation.

Exploring Safe Passage and Exit Strategies

Evacuation efforts are now taking definitive shape across multiple campuses. Several groups from Shahid Beheshti, Tehran, and Iran medical universities have received instructions regarding two primary land escape routes. These carefully designated paths lead into neighboring countries, specifically Azerbaijan or Armenia.

Thursday marks a significant milestone as the initial group begins their journey toward the Armenian crossing point. Rather than utilising these land borders immediately, some individuals prefer taking commercial airlines. High volumes of Flydubai tickets have already been booked for mid-March, specifically around March 15 and 16. This strategy allows these individuals to reach nearby international transit hubs before finally flying back to their relieved families.

Specific Arrangements for Medical Scholars

Eighty-six Indian nationals currently studying at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences received tailored travel guidance from local officials. This specific blueprint directs them to travel from Shiraz through Qom, eventually reaching the international airport in Baku, Azerbaijan. From Baku, they can safely board connecting flights directly back to their home country. Authorities and student unions are working tirelessly together to ensure these designated transit corridors remain safe and accessible for everyone wanting to depart. Maintaining clear communication channels is a top priority for all student organizations involved in this massive logistical effort.

Political Support for Distressed Youth

Continuous coordination remains crucial during this incredibly tense period. Political representatives are stepping up to bridge communication gaps and facilitate smoother transitions across volatile borders. Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has been instrumental in raising these urgent concerns with higher government authorities. Dr. Khan publicly thanked the MP for his unwavering support, constant coordination, and dedication to bringing these stranded citizens home safely. Everyone involved remains incredibly hopeful that organized travel measures will continue to expand in the coming days, offering secure and swift pathways for all remaining scholars seeking immediate return to Indian soil.
