Sadhvi Satish Sail wins national crown at KIIT Bhubaneswar.
Sadhvi Satish Sail from Goa emerged victorious at the 61st edition of Femina Miss India, securing the prestigious Miss India World 2026 title. The gala event, held at the KIIT Bhubaneswar campus on April 18, saw the model and social advocate surpass contestants from across the nation. Rajnandini Pawar of Maharashtra and Dr. Sree Advaita from Jammu and Kashmir earned the first and second runner-up spots, respectively.
Odisha has increasingly become a preferred destination for national-level cultural events, with the KIIT auditorium previously hosting major sporting and academic summits, reflecting the state’s growing logistical prowess.
Advocacy beyond the Ramp
Sadhvi is not merely a face of fashion; she maintains a deep commitment to social welfare. Her work focuses on supporting children battling malnutrition, specifically those dealing with speech and hearing impairments. During the competition, she emphasized that her biggest challenge was overcoming internal self-doubt while transitioning from a small town to the national stage.
Dressed in a metallic silver gown by Vazaneh for the final moments, the new queen spoke about the importance of celebrating fellow women instead of viewing them as rivals. This victory grants her the right to represent India at the upcoming international Miss World pageant. Her reign marks a shift toward contestants who prioritize community impact alongside aesthetic excellence.
While Sadhvi took the top honor, the podium was completed by Rajnandini Pawar, representing the spirit of Maharashtra. Dr. Sree Advaita’s placement highlights the diverse professional backgrounds of modern participants, as she balanced her medical career with the rigors of the pageant circuit.
