Bargarh, Jan 18: At least four workers from Madhya Pradesh were crushed to death after a truck ran over them while they were sleeping in Melchamunda area of Odisha’s Bargarh district today.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be known.
As per reports, the mishap took place at Birjam village under Melchamunda police limits in the district when four workers hailing from Madhya Pradesh were sleeping after completing their work.
Meanwhile, a bore-well truck went out of control and ran over them. As a result, three of them were crushed to death on the spot and another got critically injured.
On getting the information, police rushed to the spot and seized the bodies. Subsequently, they were sent for post-mortem. The cops also rushed the injured worker to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
