Tripura, Aug 20: The Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended seven Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman and her toddler, in Tripura, officials reported on Monday. The incident took place on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday in the Harnakhola area of West Tripura district.
According to a BSF spokesperson, the individuals were intercepted by BSF troopers while attempting to cross the border fencing. Among those apprehended, four, including the woman and her child, hail from Brahmanbaria district, while the remaining two are residents of Moulvibazar district in Bangladesh.
During the operation, the BSF recovered 1.5 lakh Bangladeshi taka and 300 US dollars from their possession. The detained individuals are currently under investigation to determine their motives for crossing the border and any potential connections to illegal activities.
