Puri, Aug 16: The Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Astarang Police Station, Rajesh Baliar Singh, has been suspended with immediate effect following allegations of gross misconduct and dereliction of duty.
Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania ordered the suspension and initiated disciplinary proceedings against Singh, who previously served as a Sub-Inspector at Jeypore Town Police Station in Koraput district.
According to official sources, the action was taken after a disciplinary proceeding was contemplated against Singh for behaviour deemed detrimental to public service.
During the suspension period, Singh will remain under the disciplinary control of the Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch, Cuttack. He will be entitled to subsistence allowance (SA) and dearness allowance (DA) in accordance with Rule 90 of the Odisha Service Code.
