Keonjhar, Dec 29: The decomposed body of a woman was recovered at the Sonamuni Picnic Spot, a popular tourist destination in Anandapur area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Sunday morning.

The identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained.

The exact cause of death is yet to be determined, but preliminary reports she might have been subjected to sexual assault before being brutally murdered.

The matter came to light after some locals spotted the body and alerted the police.

Upon getting the information, police officers arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.

Further investigation is underway to collect evidence and determine the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.
