Sambalpur, Aug 20: Sambalpur Vigilance on Tuesday arrested a Revenue Inspector and an Amin of the same office for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant.
The two arrested accused have been identified as Tulasa Pradhan, RI of Kesheibahal and Amin Mukesh sahu.Th e two were caught red handed while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 7,000 as final instalment from a complainant to make a field enquiry in a land issue.
According to the Vigilance report, the complainant had paid Rs 3,000as per the demand of the Pradhan and Sahu. Later, they demanded more Rs 7,000 to do this work. Finding no other way, the complainant informed the matter to vigilance.
Acting on a tip-off, Vigilance conducted a raid and nabbed both the accused. The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized from their possession.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations each from a DA angle.
