Cuttack, July 18: While self-immolation of an FM College girl has wreaked a shock wave across the state from a couple of days, a 20-year girl in Cuttack has ended herself on Friday in the same way.
She died in the SCB Medical College & Hospital under treatment, as she set herself ablaze, dousing kerosene oil on her.
This incident took place at the Sanabarsing village under the Badamba Panchayat Samiti in the Cuttack district.
The deceased has been identified as Manisa Swain.
According to report, Manisha, the daughter of Duryodhan & Gitanjali Swain reportedly doused kerosene oil and set herself ablaze in her house. She was rushed to the Badamba hospital and then to the SCB MC&H Cuttack for resuscitation. However, she succumbed to burn injuries during treatment.
The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. However, love affair is suspected to be the reason behind the suicide bid since the girl was reportedly in relationship with a local youth to which her parents opposed.
