Bhubaneswar, July 18: Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today to discuss a wide range of development projects concerning the Cuttack parliamentary constituency.
During the meeting, several urban development proposals were presented, including the establishment of a vending zone in the OMP area of Cuttack city, construction of a large convention center, and the overall enhancement of the Ranihat area. Discussions also included the development of a park at Press Chhak.
In addition to these, MP Mahtab emphasized integrated development plans for Satyabhamapur—the birthplace of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das. Other major proposals included a Drainage Master Plan for CMC and CDA areas, a barrage project on the Mahanadi River, and revival plans for the defunct Badamba Sugar Mill and the Bhagata Pur Cotton Mill. The MP also suggested setting up sub-divisional level cold storage facilities to benefit the agricultural sector.
Following the discussion, the Chief Minister assured that suitable steps would be taken to fast-track these development projects. He directed the concerned departmental secretaries to expedite administrative procedures to implement the proposed initiatives promptly.
CM Majhi further emphasized his government’s commitment to transforming Cuttack and its surrounding areas into a modern and prosperous model region through coordinated and strategic efforts. He urged all officials to work collectively to realize this vision.
Present at the meeting were Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shashwat Mishra, and Director of Municipal Administration Arindam Dakua, among others.
