Puri, Aug 10: Shri Jagannath Temple Administration on Saturday issued notice to a servitor for allegedly delaying in temple rituals.

Shiv Shankar Mahapatra, a Pratihari servitor, was served the notice for 30 minutes delay in ‘Dwaraphita’ (opening the main door) ritual.

SJTA has issued a show-cause notice to the negligent sevayat, requiring a response within seven days. Non-compliance with this notice could lead to disciplinary action in accordance with the Shree Jagannath Temple Act.

In response, Madhav Mohapatra, Secretary of the Pratihari Nijog Palia, expressed support for the administration's decision. He highlighted that concerns about frequent delays in the Dwaraphita ritual had been raised in a recent meeting.

"We had called for prompt action against those responsible for these delays. The administration's response is a positive development. Adhering strictly to temple norms and rituals is crucial for the proper functioning of this sacred shrine," Mohapatra said.
