Adapa Darshan continues in the holy shrine Puri as Lord Jagannath along with his sibling elder brother Balabhadra,sister Subhadra, accompanied by Chakraraja Sudarshan, are being worshiped on sacred Craddle Altar at Shrigundicha Temple from Sunday.

Puri, July 20: Adapa Darshan continues in the holy shrine Puri as Lord Jagannath along with his sibling elder brother Balabhadra,sister Subhadra, accompanied by Chakraraja Sudarshan, are being worshiped on sacred Craddle Altar at Shrigundicha Temple from Sunday.

With the Prime ritual of Shri Gundicha festivity, the Rath Yatra 2026 that concludes on Thursday, the deities were escorted amid a royal procession and temporarily established in the Shrigundicha temple.

This is one of the prime rituals of the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath wherein the ceremonial entry of the deities are observed as a pious festival and the deities are carried into the Janmabedi, following a two-day stay on the Bada Danda on their respective chariots(Raths).

As the weather has been favourable today, influx of visitors to the shrine is comparatively on the rise. Thus tens of thousands of devotees are found congregated at the Saradhabali for holy Adapa Darshan, only for its legendary reverence prevailed across yugas.

Alongside the darshan, the sacred Adapa Abadha is also available at the Gundicha Temple from today, that was stalled inside the Shree Jagannath Temple right from the Devasnan Purnima, thronging visitors and outsiders to taste the divinity of the Divay Mahaprasada, Kodua Bhog and Abadha.

According to traditional beliefs, offering prayers to the deities with Darshan at the Adapa Mandap and having the Abadha Anna at the Saradhabali earns good fortune and wellbeing for the devotees.

On the other hand, viewing the massive crowd in & around the Gundicha Temple and Saradhabali,Puri district administration has put extensive arrangements in place to ensure seamless Adapa Darshan of the devotees.

According to the established rituals, Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, and Madanmohan were first escorted to the Adapa Mandap, as side deities of the Trinities.

Following the primary rituals, the Chakraraj Lord Sudarshan, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and finally Lord Jagannath were taken to their cradle land amid magnificent procession named ‘Goti Pahandi’, that was one of the attractive gestures

Adorned with the ceremonial floral Tahia, Lord Jagannath entered the Gundicha Temple premises with a graceful swaying movement, that caught visitors’ attention amid the sea of devotees.
