New Delhi, Aug 15: In his 11th consecutive Independence Day address from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the nation's achievements and expressed pride in the resilience and progress of India's 140 crore citizens.

“This is the same country where terrorists once attacked us. Today, the pride we feel when our armed forces conduct surgical strikes and airstrikes reflects the spirit of our youth. That is why every citizen of our 140 crore strong nation is filled with pride today,” PM Modi declared.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the transformative era India is experiencing, stating, “Our youth is not inclined to slow down; this is our golden era.” He praised the shift from citizens pleading for basic amenities to receiving them at their doorsteps, underscoring the government's commitment to accessible services.

Emphasising India’s potential, PM Modi remarked, “By overcoming all obstacles, we can make India prosperous. Our goal is to achieve a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. If 40 crore people could overcome the shackles of slavery to gain freedom, then with the same spirit, 140 crore people can lead India to prosperity.”

The PM also highlighted the success of the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative, noting its impact on the economic system. “I am pleased that ‘Vocal for Local’ has become a mantra for economic growth, with each district taking pride in its produce. The ‘One District One Product’ initiative is fostering local pride and economic development.”

Addressing the commitment to reforms, PM Modi assured, “Our dedication to reforming lives is not for temporary applause or under compulsion but to strengthen the country. We have implemented significant reforms to improve the lives of the poor, middle class, and the youth, ensuring that their aspirations are met.”

He reiterated the government’s resolve to continue this path of reform and development, reinforcing that their efforts are aimed at enduring progress and stability for India.

As the nation celebrates its 78th Independence Day, PM Modi’s address resonates with a call for unity and continued progress, embodying the spirit of a nation poised for a bright future.
