Puri, July 7: The Pahandi Bije rituals during the Puri Rath Yatra, might be delayed this time, said Gajapati Maharaj Dibya Singhadeb.
Underlining the prime rituals on the Rath Yatra, the Gajapati said that the Pahandi Bije and the Chhera Panhara Niti of the deities are likely to be delayed for the intervention of Anabasara Niti, which is expected to be winded up at about 1 PM on Sunday. It’s why, the Agnyamala Niti was essentially performed on July 6, to cope with the situation.
Refering to the delayed Anabasara rituals performed in 1971, the Gajapati said after almost 53 years, the Anabasara Niti was cropped up by two day.It necessitated to reschedule the Netrostav and Agnya Mala rituals and they were performed on Saturday.
Accordingly, other rituals especially the Gajapati Bije, Chherapanhara and Rath Pratistha Nities will have to be rescheduled, Dibya Singhdeb said during a special interview to News7.
