Puri, Jul 3: The preparations for the Bahuda Yatra have officially begun, following the return of Shri Mandir after its annual procession on Hera Panchami.
As per tradition, the three chariots, after passing through the southern gate, have now reached the Nakachana Gate.
The procession, which started yesterday with orders from the main temple, witnessed the movement of the chariots in the following sequence: Devi Subhadra’s Darpadalana chariot, Lord Balabhadra Taladhwaja chariot, and, today, Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosa chariot—all proceeding through the southern gate to the Nakachana Gate.
Tomorrow, the public will be able to have darshan of Lord Jagannath, which will start in the morning and continue till the evening. However, details regarding the timing of darshan at Gundicha temple will be announced after further discussions with the SJTA, as informed by the District Collector.
In preparation for the Bahuda Yatra on the 5th of this month, special arrangements are being made. On the 6th, Suna Besha will be conducted, followed by Adhara Pana on the 7th, and Niladri bije on the 8th of July.
Meanwhile, as the three chariots reach the Nakachana Gate of Gundicha Mandir, the Works Department will conduct a thorough inspection of the chariots to make any necessary adjustments.
