Dhenkanal, Sep 20: In a tragic turn of events, a man allegedly committed suicide after beating her wife to death following a domestic altercation.

The incident occurred at No. 3 Colony in Akhuapala panchayat, under the Parjang police station limits in Dhenkanal district today.

The deceased woman has been identified as Rasmita Naik.

According to preliminary reports, her husband, Mithun Naik, viciously assaulted her multiple times, leading to her death on the spot.

In a shocking sequence of events following the alleged crime, Mithun reportedly took his own life by hanging himself in front of their residence.

The exact reason behind the family dispute and the subsequent murder-suicide remains unclear at this stage.

Parjang police has launched an investigation to piece together the sequence of events and determine the motive behind the tragedy.
