Balasore, July 3: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida today took an aerial tour of flood-hit areas in Balasore district to see the damage caused by the recent heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers.
She stated that the flood has affected 154 villages in six blocks of the district — Bhogarai, Baliapal, Basta, Jaleswar, Balasore Sadar, and Remuna. Eight wards in Jaleswar Municipality were also impacted.
Parida said the state government has sent teams from the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and Fire Services to carry out rescue and relief efforts.
Efforts are being made to move residents to safer areas, and food and essential supplies are being provided in the affected zones.
She added that the government is closely monitoring the situation and ensuring people's safety.
