Odisha Vigilance nabs Kendrapada Junior Assistant for bribery

Kendrapada, May 3: Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended the Junior Assistant (Settlement & Consolidation) of the office of Additional Commissioner in Kendrapada for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant.
The accused has been identified as Jitendra Kumar Senapati. Senapti was caught red handed while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 10,000 from a complainant to process her RC case registered in 2022 for correction of plot and khata number related to her land.
According to official report by Vigilance, the complainant had been requesting Senapati to process her file. But, Senapati demanded bribe Rs.10, 000 to get the work done. Complainant being, a poor woman, was unable to pay the demanded bribe. Hence, finding no other means, the complainant alleged before Vigilance Authority about harassment over toll-free No. 1064 of Odisha Vigilance. Accordingly, Vigilance officials planned and nabbed the Senapati today, while accepting the demanded bribe from complainant. The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Senapati and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Senapati from DA angle.
