Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: The University Law College, one of the constituent colleges of Utkal University, is running sans Bar Council of India (BCI) approval.
Students pursuing law courses in the college are not getting license for practice as its BCI approval has not been renewed that lapsed in 2018.
The college offers law courses of three-year Bachelor of Law with Honours (L.L.B.-H), five-year integrated BA, L.L.B.- H in full time duration and two-year Masters of Law in Human Rights (L.L.M. HR) as self-financing course.
The BCI in 2017 observed poor infrastructure and shortage of faculties in the college and served show-cause notice as to why admission will not be cancelled. The college administration said the state government is taking steps in this regard.
The BCI said students passing from the college will not be allowed to register themselves.
Despite BCI’s warning the college administration has not taken any step in this regard.
