Bhubaneswar, May 13: Blackmail queen Archana Nag who was almost out from legal battle she fought for over 14 months in Jail, has been yet in the soup.
The recent legal complication, Nag has invited herself is, the show cause notice to her, served by the State Bar Council, Odisha relating Archana’s Bar License, as a lawyer.
The State Bar Council in its show cause notice has asked Nag to explain on why she concealed her criminal background and the criminal proceedings drawn against her in the application form, submitted to the State Bar Council, to be a certified legal practitioner as a Lawyer.
According to the State Bar Council’s officials, Archana was accorded the Bar Council Certificate following her registration on May 12, based on her application filed on September 2, 2024. In the application form, Archana had not mentioned anything regarding the criminal cases pending against her, in the proforma that is on Column 20.
Meanwhile, the Council was informed that, a lot of criminal cases are still impending against Archana Nag, on which she kept the Council in dark.
Following this, the show cause notice was served wherein Nag has been asked to respond within a 7-day time after which the case will be considered ex parte and actions, deemed suitable will be taken on the matter, read the notice.
Worth mentioning, Nag who was making headlines in 2023, for alleged sextortion of prominent and moneyed people, is again the talk of the town before her new innings as a lawyer.
The State Bar Council is almost set to junk Archana’s application and invalidate the Bar License issued in her favour, said sources. Comment in this connection, either from the State Bar Council authorities or Archana Nag, is yet to come.
