Odisha extends plus three e-admission deadline to June 1, 2025

Bhubaneswar, May 21:The Odisha Higher Education Department on Tuesday extended the last date for online applications for admission into Degree (Plus Three) courses till June 1, 2025.

The original deadline for the e-Admission process into all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including Self-Financing and Sanskrit Colleges under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS), was set to expire today. 

However, recognising the widespread confusion and requests from students, the Department announced the extension via a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

According to the revised schedule, the online Common Application Form (CAF) will continue to be available on the official website www.samsodisha.gov.in until May 21, 2025. Students can submit their CAFs up to June 1, 2025, by 11:45 PM.

Other key dates announced include:

CAF Editing Option: Eligible applicants who have already submitted their applications can make OTP-based edits to their forms until May 21, 2025 (2 PM).

Uploading of Marks: Applicants who submitted their CAFs earlier can upload their Plus Two or equivalent marks until June 1, 2025 (11:45 PM).

Seat Allotment and Admission Dates: The schedule for the publication of provisional seat allotments (First, Second, Third, and Waiting Lists), final admission dates, and commencement of first-year classes will be announced by the Department in due course.

The move comes as many students were anxious about applying to degree courses without having their Plus Two results in hand. Several guardians had raised concerns about how their wards would complete the e-Admission process without clarity on marks and eligibility.

The Department has advised all applicants to visit the official SAMS portal for regular updates and instructions related to the admission process. It has also urged students to ensure they complete all procedures, including the uploading of marks and verification, within the revised timeline.

With the extended deadline, the state government aims to ensure that no eligible student misses out on admission opportunities due to procedural delays or lack of clarity over exam results.
