Night temperatures across Odisha will fall significantly over upcoming days

Odisha residents can expect colder nights as minimum temperatures are projected to decrease by two to four degrees Celsius over the upcoming two to three days. Forecast models from the India Meteorological Department indicate that weather patterns will stabilize immediately following this initial dip, with no significant temperature variations expected statewide. Dry weather conditions will continue to govern the atmospheric environment across all districts through early Monday morning, keeping the skies clear and rainfall absent. Historically, November marks the critical transition period for the eastern coastal state, ushering in the early phases of winter through dry northern winds.

Current regional observations

Recent meteorological readings highlight a steady transition toward colder seasonal patterns across the region. Jharsuguda recorded the lowest plains temperature at 15.8 degrees Celsius, whereas the hill station of G. Udaygiri observed an even cooler 13.5 degrees Celsius. Conversely, Khordha registered the highest daytime heat, peaking at 33.5 degrees Celsius. In the coastal urban centers, Bhubaneswar reported a minimum of 20.4 degrees Celsius alongside a maximum of 31.6 degrees Celsius. Neighboring Kataka (Cuttack) mirrored this stable climate, recording a minimum of 18.6 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30.2 degrees Celsius with zero precipitation.

Visibility Issues Emerge

Dense fog blanketed parts of northern Odisha, significantly reducing morning visibility in Rourkela to between 50 and 200 meters. Minor rainfall of three millimeters was isolated strictly to Gosani in Gajapati district, leaving the rest of the region completely devoid of moisture. Meteorologists expect this dry and cooling trend to dominate regional weather dynamics for the foreseeable future.
