Odisha girl Ipsita Katual to research in NASA

Cuttack, April 3: Ipsita Katual of Khandua village under Tigiria block in Cuttack district has been selected to conduct research in America's space agency the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

She has been awarded the SCOSTEP Visiting Scholar (SVS) Fellowship Award for further research on magnetic storm. She will conduct research for three months there.

She is the daughter of Bhimasen Katual, physics lecturer of Mohan Subudhi College, Baramba, and Sasmita Katual.

Ipsita is now a senior research fellow at Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG) in Mumbai. She is condcting research on space weather, space physics & aeronomy under Dr Gopi K Seemala.

Katual has stressed on women empowerment and urged people not to do gender discrimination among boys and girls.
