Bhubaneswar, June 12:Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday sat across the table for the first time after 24 years of his political career.
The popular CM, who reigned Odisha for as many as 5 terms consecutively, became one of the guests among the invitees, during the swearing-in ceremony of the new Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today.
Patnaik, who had ruled Odisha for nearly a quarter-century since the very day of leading the Biju Janata Dal(BJD) from 1997, had been present at hundreds of ground-breaking ceremonies of large scale industries.
Naveen in a first during his entire political journey, was found sitting among the top invitees today after he faced an unexpected defeat in the recently concluded Assembly Election.
Naveen’s defeat was notable given his track record in the successful governance, which included poverty elimination, welfare schemes, rural and urban development, and disaster management.
