Chhatrapur, July 9: Pushpa Munda, the Chief Supply Officer of Ganjam district, was intercepted by the Vigilance Department near Chhatrapur on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Berhampur Vigilance Division seized ₹3 lakh in unaccounted cash from his vehicle during a search on the National Highway.
Sources said the officer was en route to his office from his rented accommodation in Bank Colony, Chhatrapur, when the raid took place. Following the vehicle search, vigilance officials also conducted a simultaneous raid at his rented flat in Aashirbad Apartment.
Munda was recently transferred to Nuapada district in the same capacity. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the seized cash.
