Sambalpur, June 29: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed bilateral Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur and IIM Visakhapatnam to provide specialised training in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and emerging technologies.
Under these collaborations, a total of 800 officers of MCL will undergo structured capacity building programmes, with 500 officers to be trained by IIM Raipur and 300 officers by IIM Visakhapatnam.
The customised curriculum is designed to equip executives with advanced knowledge and practical applications of AI and ML, enabling data-driven decision-making, optimisation of operations and fostering innovation across functional domains.
The MoUs were signed by Keshav Rao, Director (Human Resources), MCL; Prof. Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, Dean (Academics), IIM Visakhapatnam and Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-Charge, IIM Raipur, in presence of Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), MCL, Functional Directors and senior officials of the company.
These partnerships are expected to significantly enhance MCL’s digital transformation journey by building future-ready leadership capabilities and strengthening the organisation’s ability to leverage AI and ML for improved efficiency, productivity and operational excellence.
