Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a search operation was launched early Sunday morning. During the combing operation, personnel discovered a steel tiffin box buried underground. Upon opening it, they found bundles of high-denomination currency notes stashed inside.

Following the initial discovery, the operation was further intensified. According to official sources, the total amount recovered amounts to ₹35 lakh.

Investigating agencies suspect the money was intended to fund the purchase of sophisticated weapons and explosive materials by the Maoist group. Authorities are also probing the source of the funds, with strong indications that the amount may have been extorted from large contractors, businessmen, and industrialists operating in the region.
