Mumbai, Aug 14: Politician and actress Kangana Ranaut expressed her desire to direct all three Khans—Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir—during the trailer launch of her upcoming film Emergency. She stated that she would love to create a film showcasing their acting talents and significant societal contributions. Kangana praised the Khans for their immense talent and their substantial impact on the industry, noting that their artistic sides remain underexplored.
She also shared a personal regret, saying, “One actor I always regret not being able to direct is Irrfan Khan. He is one of my favorite Khans.”
Emergency is a period political drama directed by Kangana Ranaut, in which she stars as former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The film explores the intense political and emotional challenges of the era, depicting nationwide curfews, press censorship, and the closure of government offices.
The trailer reveals a gripping portrayal of this tumultuous period. The film features a notable cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in key roles.
Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, Emergency boasts a soundtrack by Sanchit Balhara and a screenplay and dialogues written by Ritesh Shah. The film is scheduled for release on September 6.
