Bhubaneswar, May 29: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday expelled Himanshu Sekhar Sahu for engaging in anti-party activities and breaching party protocols. Manmohan Samal, the President of the BJP's Odisha Unit, initiated the disciplinary action against Sahu.

According to the report, the party nominated Smruti Rekha Pahi as its candidate from Dharmasala constituency instead of Himanshu Sekhar Sahu. This decision sparked dissatisfaction among Sahu's supporters, leading to protests outside the BJP Headquarters, alleging unfairness in ticket allocation.

The supporters of Himanshu have claimed that, Sahu is the one who brought a substantial number of supporters to the BJP from the rulling BJD. However, the party allocated the ticket to Pahi.

Worth mentioning, Sahu is contensting from Dharmasala constituency as an independent candidate as he did not get a ticket from the party.
